  • Westview needs facial tissue– ‘Tis the season! Help us keep our classrooms stocked and our students comfortable. We’re kindly asking for facial tissue donations. Please have your student bring your tissue donation to any of their teachers or the front office. Your support is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    • Jazz Band Performance @ Planet Bluegrass- Mon., December 18th, 6:00 pm
    • Lost or damaged library books: Did you know students can do community service to work off lost or damaged library books? Click here for more information about it! All library books checked out before December 10, 2023 are due!
    • Westview Annual Canned Food Drive December 1st – December 18th-
      • Please have your student bring cans of food to their Wildcat class. We will have a free-for-all competition where we combine all of the teams and grade levels. There will be a winning team at each grade level and an overall school winner who will win the coveted food drive trophy! Before you send cans please note: We will not take or count food with glass bottles or food that will expire within 2 months. Thank you for your generosity and support!

    Other Announcements

    • Eco-Cycles Holiday Guide is full of waste-reduction tips specific to the holiday-related festivities coming up (and year-round) so you can celebrate with loved ones AND show your appreciation for the Earth at the same time! It also features answers to common questions like: “What do I do with crumpled wrapping paper and broken string lights?” It’s a great resource – check it out!     • 8th graders! It is time to apply to become a member of the Silver Creek Leadership Academy!  We are excited to help you develop your leadership skills.  Applications are open until January 10th.

    The Westview Parent Group once again indulged teachers and staff with three days of scrumptious treats, munchies, coffee, and tea. A heartfelt “thank you” to everyone who came together to brighten our week! WE LOVED IT! We feel so fortunate to have such wonderful support from our Wildcat families!! 🙂
    Here are a few action shots from our first-ever STEM Music Showcase!
    We had performances from Jazz Band, Show Choir, and Pops Orchestra. 

    Jazz Band students showed a lot of courage by getting up and doing improv solos. We had a total of 12 soloists!
    Show Choir students wowed the crowd with their performance of Pick-a-Little Talk-a-Little from the Music Man. We also heard from some beautiful soloists!
    Pops Orchestra brought a smile to Mr. Spencer’s face with their rendition of Highlights from the Wizard of Oz. Kudos to all of these super-talented musical Wildcats!
    The 8th Grade Girls Travel Basketball team takes on Mead Middle School on Monday at home. The Wildcats came out with one win and one loss in this competitive match-up.

    6th grade Science students put what they’ve learned about magnetism to the test by trying to build a functioning MagLev train model.
    6th grade students learn about the design process by building, testing, and evaluating solar car models.
    7th grade students work on the design process during Core X.  They are creating hot air balloons and will launch them outside, documenting their learning process in a video.
    8th graders play “Knockout” during Challenge Day on Fridayalways a student favorite!
