Bio

Hello! I’m Melissa Goldman, and I’m the part-time counselor at Westview Middle School. I have always loved working with children, and have spent the last 20ish years in various childcare and educational settings. Before becoming a school counselor, I was a teacher and an ELL paraprofessional, then took a break to have and raise my two amazing daughters. While being a stay-at-home mom, I realized that the elements I loved most about being a teacher were actually their own separate job - school counselor! So I worked toward my masters degree in counseling, and am so happy to now be able to work with Westview Middle School’s wonderful staff and students.

When I’m not at work, I greatly enjoy baking (especially fancy birthday cakes for my kids), watching movies with my husband and kids, and ballroom dancing! Though I just started taking lessons in the spring, being able to ballroom dance and go to social dances has been a dream of mine for a while, and now I’m able to waltz and tango and country two-step my way across the dance floor without stepping on too many toes!
