Westview Middle School Weekly Update

Intramural Girls Basketball Championship teams Red and Green pose for a photo after a thrilling and emotional game in front of a packed house on Monday, January 29th. “This year’s Intramural Championship game was a great representation of what the whole season was about- sportsmanship, hard work, integrity, and fun. Students and families witnessed an incredible game! Mr. Spencer said, “It was one of the best intramural games we have ever had at Westview.” The 8th grade players from both teams showed their leadership skills and made sure that every player on their team was included in the action, just as they did throughout the season. The entire game was back and forth until Green was able to come on strong at the end and win the game 47-45. Intramurals are an introduction to the game of basketball. Some will go on to play in high school and beyond, and for some students, this will be the only opportunity they will have to play basketball or wear a uniform with their school name on it. Both the Girls and the Boys Intramural Basketball seasons this school year were outstanding, and as I said before, remind us of what matters.”

The short power outage that our section of Longmont experienced on Tuesday wasn’t about to stop 7th graders in Ms. Ferrara’s P.E. class from practicing their volleyball skills- quite the contrary… The sudden change of environment seemed to inspire them to continue what they were doing and brought in an unexpected element of even more fun!

    Expect the best!
