Plains to the Park

Westview is proud to be a STEM school, and Plains to the Park is one of our amazing programs!

Since 2014, students have been collecting real data on wildlife along Colorado’s Front Range, helping track changes over time. They take their learning beyond the classroom with field days during our summer STEM program, as well as on weekends and school breaks.

We even share our findings with partners like Rocky Mountain National Park and the City of Longmont (Button Rock Preserve). Hands-on learning, real research, and unforgettable mountain experiences — that’s STEM in action!

Help Feed Our Teachers

Next week is Late Start Day, and we still have a few spots open! We’re looking for parents to help provide breakfast for our amazing teachers on Wednesday, March 4th. It’s a simple but meaningful way to show our appreciation for all they do each day for our students. If you’re able to help with an item, please use the Sign Up Genius link below — we’re so grateful for your support!

Sweet Science: Modeling Plate Boundaries

Our 7th grade students brought science to life by modeling plate boundary types with frosting and graham crackers! Through this hands-on activity, they explored divergent, convergent, and transform movement—creating their own mini “tectonic plates” to better understand how Earth’s surface changes over time. Learning has never looked (or tasted) so sweet!

Proud Moments at Honor Band

These talented students spent Tuesday representing our school at the Combined League Honor Band in Greeley, then took the stage for an incredible performance at the Union Colony Civic Center.

We’re so proud of their hard work, dedication, and the way they showcased their musical talent!
