Westview’s Girls Volleyball program consists of two simultaneous programs; an Intramural League (in-house) and an 8th Grade Travel team. Both seasons last for approximately one month.
Intramural League: Following a week of practice, players are divided into teams of roughly the same number of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Players are assigned jerseys to be returned at the end of the season. 8th graders are the designated captains of their teams. A schedule is created and games begin immediately. All games are played in our big and small gyms after school during the week. A single-elimination tournament is held during the final week of the season and the top two teams will compete in the Intramural Girls Volleyball Championship game on the following Monday morning at a special school assembly in front of our student body. Parents and families of championship players are welcome to attend this always-exciting game. Typically, between 125-150 girls participate in Intramural Volleyball.
8th Grade Travel Team: 8th graders who wish to play at a more competitive level and represent Westview against other schools may sign up to play on the 8th Grade Travel Team in addition to Intramurals. Players are divided into an A team and a B team based on ability and must commit to additional early morning practices before school four to five times per week. Players are assigned separate Travel Team jerseys that are to be returned at the end of the season. The Travel Team will compete in five home/away matches and the end-of-season District Volleyball Tournament.

Wrestlers are grouped by weight classes and gear up for six challenging meets against neighboring middle schools within the district. Uniforms are assigned to each participant that are to be turned in at the end of the season. Every effort is made to ensure evenly-matched bouts in both practice and competition. The season concludes with the 6th grade District tournament and the 7th/8th grade District tournament. Typically, our wrestling team is comprised of 40-60 students.
