A Day of Excellence: An Inside View of Education in Our Community
Share Your Voice and Celebrate Our Schools
We invite you to spend the day deepening your knowledge of district operations, lending your voice to future planning and programs, and celebrating the achievements of our students, teachers, staff, and partners who have transformed St.
Westview 8th Graders Ava Bennell, Rachel Mau, and Ella Jackson are spearheading a kindness campaign at Westview. This initiative is part of their National Junior Honor Society service project. Their kindness initiative works hand in glove with our 7 Mindsets theme for the month, "Attitude of Gratitude". Students and teachers are spreading messages of support and kindness, we have a daily announcement of kindness, and our hallways are adorned with posters featuring insprirational messages. Thank you girls for making Westview Middle School a little better each day.
Westview robotics teams were invited to the Innovation Center to be part of the Partners in Education Breakfast this morning at the Innovation Center. They joined teams from Erie Middle School in demonstrating one of the outstanding things that is going on in our St. Vrain Schools!
Across the district, we have been championing a new motivational motto that is uniting our shared vision for excellence in learning and student advancement: We are taking public education by #StVrainStorm! Every day, I observe countless examples of students, teachers, staff, and community partners exemplifying the highest levels of achievement and drive that represent the very best of our public schools. Our graduation rates are at their highest level – over 90 percent at our traditional schools – and St. Vrain was also one of only four districts in Colorado and 373 nationally to be recognized by College Board’s Annual AP District Honor Roll. Enrollment in Advanced Placement (AP) courses has increased by 50 percent since 2014 with over 3,000 students enrolled in at least one AP class.
Each spring, the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley hosts the Tribute to Teachers, an event that honors and recognizes the excellence of our teachers and brings out the stories of the superheroes in our district that go above and beyond. On May 4, 2019, the Education Foundation will be hosting the Tribute to Teachers at the Westin Hotel and Conference Center in Westminster.
In this month's issue of the Learning Technology Plan Family Connections Newsletter, we offer suggestions for establishing healthy bedtime routines for teens and their families, and we invite you to join us for a parent workshop hosted in partnership with Dr. Devorah Heitner that will focus on challenges and opportunities around technology use.
