I have been teaching math and science for 20 years. I live in Longmont with my wife, Lisa, and two sons, Luke and Noah (both of whom are Westview kids). Before teaching, I worked as a counselor for adults with developmental disabilities (with Boulder County) and before that I worked as a computer programmer for a small company here in Longmont. I even did construction work for Ken Pratt for a while when I was still very young.

At Westview I teach math and also coach any number of sports (mostly basketball). I run the Westview Video Production program which produces WTV. My motto is: Academic Achievement for All.

When I’m not teaching, I can be found in the mountains with my family. We are skiers, mountain bikers, fly fishers, and backpackers. We like crossing contour lines (swiftly).

In my classroom, I value cleverness above memorization; vocabulary above spelling; improvement over perfection. I know that everyone can be successful in Algebra.

My favorite word is Adventure.
