Summer vacation is in full swing and we are busy planning for a great new school year. We are excited to introduce Mrs. Sandy Heiser, our new Assistant Principal. Mrs. Heiser comes to us from the Thompson School District where she most recently served as an Assistant Principal at Mountain View High School. Prior to that she has served as the Assistant Principal at Bill Reed for three years and an instructional coach at Conrad Ball Middle School. We were thrilled to find such an experienced and successful leader to join our team at Westview. You will have an opportunity to meet her at our 6th Grade Parenting 101 presentation and at our Back to School Nights.
Our offices will open for the new year on Tuesday, August 1. The first day of school on August 15 is for 6th graders and any NEW 7th and 8th graders. Parents are invited to come join their students for lunch from 12:00 - 1:00 on that first day. All of our returning students will start the school year on Wednesday, August 16. I have listed below some important dates to begin the school year.

6th Grade “Parenting 101” Thursday, August 10th (6:00 - 7:00PM)
8th Grade Registration and iPad distribution Thursday, August 10th (1:00 - 6:00PM)
7th Grade Registration and iPad distribution Friday, August 11th (1:00 - 6:00PM)
First Day of School for 6th & New 7th & 8th graders: Tuesday, August 15
First Day of School for returning 7th and 8th graders: Wednesday, August 16
6th Grade iPad rollout night Monday, August 21 (3:40 - 7:00PM)
6th Grade Back to School Night: Wednesday, August 23rd (6:00 - 7:30PM)
7th & 8th Grade Back to School Night: Thursday, August 24th (6:00 - 7:30PM)
Also remember that school starts and ends 10 minutes later next year.
